Landscape Atelier graduate

In June I graduated from the new Landscape Painting Atelier at the Gage Academy of Fine Art in Seattle, WA. It is a fantastic program under the instruction of Suzanne Brooker. My style is evolving, and I invite you to view my newest work by clicking on "New Images" in the website art gallery..

I am continuing to develop my "Watercourse" series, with 10 new images painted in oil on panel. These images will complete the journey from the dark, primal heart of the Northwest forest, through the canyon, and emerging into the brighter, light filled landscape.

Walking The Way of St. James

In the spring of 2008 my friend and fellow artist, Sharon Lough, and I will embark on a challenging Artist's Journey. We will be walking "The Way of St. James" across Spain, also known as the "Camino de Santiago". It is a medieval Pilgrimage route stretching from the French town of St. Jean Pied de Port in the Pyrenees Mountains, across the historic and beautifully varied north of Spain, ending at the magnificent cathedral at Santiago de Compostella. The pathway is 481 miles, or 776 kilometers, which we will walk over the course of 6 weeks. We will draw the changing multitude of landscapes each day as we follow in the footsteps of those pilgrims who have gone before us. It will be an immersion in not only the art, culture, landscape and history of Spain, but a step back in time to a simpler way of life traveled at a slower pace. Drawing has always been a meditation for me, and I have always found my God in the ever changing landscape. This will be a powerfully spiritual journey on many levels.
